Old Wooden Crate Wall Decor

I went apple picking in Winchester, VA, with friends and had an awesome time. Apple picking is great and makes me wish I could can things and do other types of domestic cookery tasks.

While there I saw that the top part of the wall of one of the buildings had a ton of stacked old wooden fruit crates. I love the way it looked and I think it would look great as wall paneling if you pried the staples out of the crates and then used the sides as flat sheets. It would be County Living’s sort of aesthetic, which I love. If only I had a large amount of old fruit crates…

Star Wars Curtains

I just got these nifty old Star Wars curtains from Yesterday’s Rose Thrift Store in Fairfax for $4. I believe they will be either a Star Wars dress, skirt, or tote bag. Maybe all three since I have two large panels. I just have to find the right pattern.

Wooden Trench Art Bracelet

I’m supposed to avoid eBay but this trench art bracelet was a $1! It is also wooden, which is different. It is from WWII and decorated all around (it looks painted by hand). The auction only said that it is “Probably French.” It does say “Vive Les Allies” and has flowers painted on it as well as Allied flags (including the Soviet flag). I figured that I’d wear it but now I’m afraid the paint will chip. Hmm.
