Postage Stamp Wallets and Recycled Wallets

Filed under: fashion, miscellanea, philately, shopping — admin @ 10:07 am

My friend Nicole has this adorable stamp wallet that I love that is designed to look like a letter. I can’t find it online but it is well made and seems to be leather – I think it was purchased in London. It inspired me and helped me come across these great recycled wallets by (Dynomighty . They print designs onto Tyvek to create earth-friendly wallets with fun themes like Air Mail letters, vintage postcards, Subway maps, tattoos, etc. I noticed that a lot are on sale on eBay (and then you will earn eBay bucks). Also, if you Google “how to make a Tyvel wallet” you will find lots of tutorials on Instructables, YouTube, and How Stuff Works. I don’t have any Tyvek to try it. I do wonder if stuff falls out of the wallet because it looks like stuff could fall out of the sides?

Selling Jewelry at Night Clubs

Filed under: miscellanea, occassions, vending — admin @ 8:00 pm

My friend Ella (Jewelry by Ella) and I recently ventured into selling jewelry at local night clubs on gothic nights (which apparently feature vendors). Our first experience was at Town. What we learned from it is that small items (like earrings) sell best because people have limited cash. Also, it helps to have another person so then one can man the table and the other can get drinks
The other vendors were all really awesome and the clientele (though dressed in black) were all friendly.

They also had cool Halloween decor (see photo).

These are this year’s pumpkin carving efforts – done without patterns. My father did a Nightmare Before Christmas Pumpkin, my sister did a Cheshire cat pumpkin, and Caitlin and I did a Space Invaders pumpkin.
