I did a small oil painting with these awesome oil crayons my parents bought me a long time ago. I like them because they clean really easily yet are very easy to blend. This canvas is small and it sort of reminds me of a field or a view of a field. My father made the frame out of scrap wood flooring from the new houses they are building up the street. It is red oak.

Log Jewelry Box from Jeff's Website
Bart was in Pennsylvania and at one of the local stores he bought me this amazing and unique log jewelry box. The artist behind it is Jeff Trag, who apparently is now an expatriate living in Mexico. It is made out of an actual log, with drawers cut out and lined with felt. When you first see it, it is hard to tell that it is actual jewelry box. It is so well made that mine even has secret hiding places inside and the seam is almost invisible (it took 4 people and several hours for us to figure out how it was created).
All his log jewelry boxes are for sale. I personally like the freeform designs because I think they are the most unique. I want all of those. Especially the willow one. I’ve contemplated trying to make one and I have a feeling that all my efforts would probably come out really cruddy compared to his, although I am tempted by this great Instructables Cedar Jewelry Box Tutorial.
