The art in this section is non-standard and focuses on creating interesting pieces with recycled and reused materials like newspaper, corks, and soda cans. I am especially inspired by modern representations of classic concepts, like modern family portraits without the staid and stiff poses that are typical. I also like layering on images, text, and words.

The notecards and greeting cards are made from old and worn children’s books, typically the ones that are missing pages or have been written on and have been discarded by the library. I particularly like picking them up and turning them into notecards, depending on the style and subject matter of the books.

The cork boards are made from real corks that I receive from members of the community. Many have seen the corkboards and donate their corks to me to use in making new ones. I am experimenting with using corks in home decorating, like creating baseboards for custom bars, but currently I don’t have the resources for this.
